One of our favourite creative talents in Singapore is non other than chef/artist Janice Wong owner of restaurant 2am:dessertbar. Edible art is how she describe her works, it does not only look amazing, it taste amazing too. On showcase at Singapore : Inside Out is her work entitled 1000 Crosses. We were greeted with a sweet warm aroma as we stepped into the space. Overhead, are lollipops hanging off a colourful brush-stroked panel. “I wanted to create everything with locally inspired flavours – chili padi, gula melaka, kaffir lime and even bakkwa which is pork. So what better way to taste Singapore than pull a lollipop off the ceiling?”

We caught up with the ever talented artist Speak Cryptic doing his thing in his interactive installation Kamar Kamillion where he painted a replica of his room and invited the audience to paint, draw, doodle and contribute to this ever-changing room. “It talks about my personal identity and how the bedroom is a representation of that. You tend to know what kind of person he/she is by the CDs, books, posters on the wall. The work in itself is about how I am a product of my environment and I wanted to be open to everyone to come in and paint alongside me – inviting them to transform who I am”
